Scouting Ministries
Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys around ages 11 - 17. Through the Boy Scout program, young men can achieve the core objectives of strengthening character, personal fitness and good citizenship.
Cub Scouting is a year-round family program designed for boys who are about 7 to 10 years old. Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.
Theodore United Methodist Church proudly sponsors these Scouting Ministries which are working to develop boys with strong moral character and respect for God and Country.
The Walk to Emmaus
The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all."
The Emmaus Walk typically begins Thursday evening and concludes Sunday evening. Men and women attend separate weekends. The three-day Emmaus experience and follow-up groups strengthen and renew Christian people as disciples of Jesus Christ and as active members of the body of Christ in mission to the world. Although connected through The Upper Room to The United Methodist Church, The Walk to Emmaus is ecumenical.
The Theodore Seekers Emmaus Cluster meets at Theodore United Methodist Church on third Tuesdays for a couple of months prior to scheduled walks. Check the church calendar on this web site for the next meeting. Bring your Emmaus book and a dessert.
Community Support
The church's facilities are used by various groups in our community in addition to the Boy Scouts and The Emmaus Community, such as local ball teams, lap quilters, and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly).
